The two editions of Restaurant Week in Lisbon have been so successful that the phones of participating restaurants did not stop ringing. Reservations for dinner for only 20 euros in the Lisbon´s more expensive restaurants, as the Eleven or the Olivier, sold out in few days.

Now is the turn of Porto. From 21 to 31 October, 22 of the most renowned restaurants of the city, prepare a menu with appetizer, entrée, and dessert for only 20 euros (€19+€1 for charity).

City Park (Parque da Cidade)

It is the largest green space in Porto. Goes until the sea and has a number of pathways that are the delight of all those for whom exercise is a passion. Saint Roque Park (Parque de São Roque)

As I’ve written, Red Bull Air Race returned last weekend to cross in high speed the skies of Douro river for approximately 720 thousand people, scattered in Porto and Gaia riversides.

Red Bull Air Race returns to Portugal

If you will be in Portugal on days 12 and 13 September, you can see in the waters of the Douro river, between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, for the third consecutive year, one round of Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

Mobilizing last year about one million spectators, the Portuguese round can be once again crucial in the final score for the title. This, in a great year, with the number of pilots grow from 12 to 15 (representing 12 nationalities) and the new rules to make things even more exciting (the fight for the points begins in qualifications).

According to the pilots, this is already one of the most emblematic locations of the circuit -- the Douro becomes these days in an perfect amphitheater.

Portuguese Wine House is the best

Project of portuguese enotourism and rehabilitation wins international prize.

The Wine House, that was born inside the Pinhão train station (Douro) in June 2008, received the International Prize “Best of Wine Tourism 2009″, in the category of Arts and Culture, organized by the Great Wine Capitals. The competition was contested by 384 candidates from the eight cities / regions winegrowers that constitute this organization: Porto, Bordeaux (France), Florence (Italy), Bilbao-Rioja (Spain), Mendoza (Argentina), Napa Valley (USA), Cape Town (South Africa) and Mainz (Germany).

The main reason why this prize was assigned was the museum, built in three small houses in the mythical station, where they lived the handlers and the rail operators.

This award joins to the others already assigned for this organization to Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo (owner of the Wine House) in the categories of architecture, parks and gardens (in 2008) and accommodation (in 2007).
